Sacrament Meeting With Trey and Trenton

So I was in sacrament meeting with Trey and Trenton the other day because Amber was home with sick kids and we had a pretty neat experience. In an effort to help the boys focus on Christ for the sacrament I invited them to think about the symbolism for the bread, water and the covering of the sacrament with the cloth.  A minute later Trey whispers, "Dad, I think I know the answer." I asked him to wait a couple minutes until the sacrament was done and then we would talk about it. He faced the front again only to turn back to me a few seconds later and say, "Dad, can't I just tell you right now?"  I responded in the affirmative and Trey proceeded to tell me (with agreement from Trenton) that the reason why the bread and water were covered was so that the teenagers that were blessing the sacrament wouldn't sneak any bread or water before it was time :-)

I got a good chuckle out of that but wanted them to still understand it a little better and so I invited them to tell me what the bread and water represented...they responded correctly that it represented the body and blood of Christ. I then had them recall how Jesus' friends had covered his body when they put it in the tomb and that is when the light clicked on for Trey and I watched as the Holy Ghost taught him about the sacrament.

"Oooohhhhh!" He said, "Now I get it! The cloth covers e bread and water just like Jesus' body was covered in the tomb and then when they uncover the bread and water it is like the resurrection when Jesus' body was uncovered!"  Such a cool experience to see how the spirit works with all of us to understand things that will help us in our quest to become more like the Savior and understand Him better. Also a testimony to the reality of God and that He really does help us individually and teach us individually.
